I have to agree here the way Cisco marks the exam is not manual. We are more
than likely to loose 10 - 20 points on these things. Next time I will over
configure my lab to make it fool proof since I haven't seen their script :)

This is my opinion also. If you are told to allow for DNS traffic, why not
just use UDP/TCP. The same for NTP and others. I think it is faster then
trying to talk to the proctor. Of course, if it says only zone transfers,
you might not apply this logic. Also, I think the idea that they don't
penalize you for extra commands implies that they they are using a script to
parse your configuration. If so, this makes it harder to get the correct
answer. I would like to get cisco to respond to this. I have been told that
they only review your configuration when you are on the bubble.

I believe this is one of the things that makes the exam so tricky. "How
much" should you configure. Due to incredible time constraints, you do
not want to get in the habit of over-configuring. But, at the same time,
you are typically not penalized for over-configuring and it is a nice
feeling to ensure you actually received the points.
Through practice, I learned how to manage my time while making robust
configurations to ensure I was receiving full points.

If you need any clarification on a question during the lab, I think its
best to ask the proctor. However the question should not be open ended.
Tell him/her that, depending on how the question is read, you can
configure it A or B.
I had a few instances during my lab and the proctor was able to clarify
the reading of the question for me without any issues.
Also, I think sometimes candidates can read too much into a question.
