Hi,
I have 2 queries...
1. I have some confusion around hello/dead time on different
interfaces....Please let me know whether I am correct here...
PPP, HDLC Point-to-Point links > T1 <=> 5/15 secs
PPP, HDLC Point-to-Point links =< T1 <=> 60/180 secs
FR Point-to-Point links with speed > T1 <=> 5/15 secs
FR Point-to-Point links with speed =< T1 <=> 60/180 secs
FR Multipoint links with speed > T1 <=> 5/15 secs
FR Multipoint links with speed =< T1 <=> 60/180 secs
If the above is true, it means that the hello/dead time depends on bandwidth
and not on type of interface.
Am I corrcet ?
2. Two routers are connected in following way....running EIGRP
R1(multipoint, speed T1) ----------------FR
Cloud-------------------------(point-to-point, >T1 speed)R2
By default EIGRP would use a hello interval --> 60 secs on R1
--> 5 secs
on R2
Though the neighborship would be formed b/w R1 and r2, wudn't it flap on R2
as the ACK/Hellos received from R1 wud always be after its hold time(15
secs).
Thanks,
Sugam
