Hi,
I was able to use the policy-map method to apply 8000
bits/sec w/ burst of 1000; however, do we know if
Cisco considers this CAR? I think they do. Also, I
tried to change the MTU on a 2500 and 2600; however, I
got the message that they LAN interfaces did not
support user settable mtu.
This is an example of the policy applied to the
interface:
R1#sh policy-map interface e0
Ethernet0
Service-policy output: car
Class-map: tst (match-any)
11 packets, 981 bytes
5 minute offered rate 0 bps, drop rate 0 bps
Match: any
police:
cir 256000 bps, bc 1000 bytes
conformed 4 packets, 266 bytes; actions:
transmit
exceeded 0 packets, 0 bytes; actions:
drop
conformed 0 bps, exceed 0 bps
