Matt,

Though matching only internal routes while redistributing from OSPF into RIP
will work fine for your situation, but make sure that you have not
unnecessarily created other reachability problems for yourself.

*Since RIP have a higher AD than OSPF, the new RIP routes will not be able
to replace the native OSPF routes in the routing
table, so you should not be worried about that.

*If another IGP was redistributed into OSPF from another part of your pod,
matching only internal OSPF routes while
redistributing into RIP will prevent those routes from getting to your
RIP domain, this might cause some unanticipated reachability
 problems.

To stay out of trouble, try to protect the native routes of your higher AD
IGPs from the lower AD IGPs and not the other way round. This is very
important if RIP is involved in the mutual redistribution; EIGRP & OSPF have
an internal decision making process that enables them to always prefer
internal routes over external routes.

Since there might be multiple solutions to a particular problem/task, the
first selection criteria should involve:

*Making sure that your choosen solution does not only meet the
criterias/restrictions set forth on the current task, but that it will not
alter the results of past solutions.

Though you have individual tasks, and it is only logical that you solve each
task one after the other, most times sequentially but never you loss sight
of the fact that, these individual tasks are part of a bigger picture and
they might be related one with the other.

You should be able to see the link/relationship between one task and the
other ahead of time and the harm some otherwise correctly configured
solutions will cause other previously configured tasks, else you might find
yourself gaining new points by lossing other previously gained points.
