Static route to null0 for the range you want to summaries.

Redistribute the static routes into RIP.

You may need to use a route map to redistribute the static routes,
depending on whether you have other static routes that could/should be
redistributed.

i.e

ip route 10.10.0.0 255.255.0.0 null0

router rip
version 2
no auto
redist static

Sorry , I should have worded it more precisely :

1) you are not allowed to use the " auto-summary command"
2) you are not allowed to use the "ip summary-address" command under the
intf

and also the ip subnet to be advertised is in the class 'A' range and
summary is in Class 'B' range.
