Hi Everybody,

I have configured multicasting using static RP on SW1, R1, R2 and R6. Now
everything works fine, except, when I enable multicast on R6 and give ip pim
rp-address 150.1.2.2 , it some how learns 150.1.2.2 RP address via Auto-RP
as well.here is the output..

Rack1R6#sh ip pim rp mapp

PIM Group-to-RP Mappings

Group(s) 224.0.1.39/32

  RP 150.1.2.2 (?), v1

Info source: local, elected via Auto-RP

         Uptime: 00:13:35, expires: never

Group(s) 224.0.1.40/32

  RP 150.1.2.2 (?), v1

Info source: local, elected via Auto-RP

         Uptime: 00:13:35, expires: never

Group(s): 224.0.0.0/4, Static

    RP: 150.1.2.2 (?)

Even R2 is not announcing itself by command ip pim send-rp-announce. Now if
I clear RP mapping, only static entry will remain on R6, but even then I can
not ping 228.28.28.28 on SW1. I checked R6 send multicast packets to R2 but
somehow R2 can not forward those while if I ping from R2 to 228.28.28.28 it
gets response from SW1 which has joined group 228.28.28.28. Here is the
debug output from R2 which shows that R6s packets for 228.28.28.28 are
being received but with R2 can not find outgoing interface, while it knows
that it can reach 228.28.28.28 through s0/0 because it can ping this group.
