Indeed, this is also true for non XM 26xx. They are able to run 12.3 and even 12.4 images (for lab purpose only :)

If you only have 64 megs of DRAM try to run the IOS even if CCO says
that 96 megs of DRAM are needed.

Subject: 2621 XM IOS reccommendations
Hello Fellas-
I have built my home lab and I am working on the CORE lab book at the
present time. I am not able to run all of the commands needed with the
ios that I have running: A 2600 telco. I have 32/64 mb memory and when
I look at the IE recommended IOS it is Enterprise PLUS. All of these
are 32/96 and will not fit on my Machine. Is there a workaround IOS, or
do I need to embrace the fact that I need to upgrade Mem?
Thanks to everyone.
