Victor,

By default, when you announce a network to BGP, it copies MED
value from IGP metric. You may use route-map to set different value.

When you advertise connected prefix, for instance, you get MED=0.

Just remember, that MED is non-transitive, and is removed, after
crossing one AS.

Also, AFAIR metric is removed when you do an "aggregate-address",
but you may set it with "attribute-map".
