Just on the **narrow point** of an address family for IPv6- IPv6 transport
between VPN sites over an IPv4/MPLS backbone is supported in an IOS feature
called 6VPE (not to be confused with 6PE, for those aware of that). And the
syntax is slightly different:
eg.
vrf definition <vrf_name>
rd <rd>
route-target <route_target>
address-family ipv4
<blah>
address-family ipv6
<blah>
Above shows one set of route targets, but it is possible to specify
different RTs under the address families.
6VPE is available in certain EFT IOS images, but not yet in generally
available images (I may be slightly out-of-date here, though).
