I have go with Jian's way.

The no ip pim dm-fallback command basically says "if the rp is down, we stop multicasting!" .

Shivjit is working on a scenario that the rp is up and running for sure. Only question is that we don't want to have the rp's address hard-coded at the first hop.

I did the experiment out of desperation (3 days left to my 3rd attempt) and made a mistake by not adding the default rp. And the announcement still reaches the first hop. By mistake I discovered that the announcement doesn't go through any router to reach the first hop. So, no need to hard code the rp address.
