Yeah, likely they would hang up on you. ;-)
I see the thing James mentioned all the time. I can sit back and monitor
response times to a LAN switch and see the response times jump between 2-20
ms across our MAN but if I monitor response times to a device hanging off
that switch, it's a steady 2-3 ms. It definitely handles "through" traffic
better as it was designed to do.

I am thinking it could be a possible "route back" issue. I do think there
is enough there to contact the provider (if you are a customer) and have
them look at it from there point of view. Hard to say at this point.
