I have a few questions regarding a malfunctioning 3550 - the problem
could also exist between keyboard and chair but i doubt it
the switch in question was a rental and evidently not cleared between
users. the VTP domain was something else besides null.
so i tried to erase it as per cisco guidelines I deleted vlan.dat
typed in wr erase and reloaded the rack yet the old config persisted.
all sorts of goodies were in the switch that arent on my doc cd.
including one where all the files had rwx next to them as in read
write execute
i can set permissions on files - as in make the startup-config read only?
routers have cron - yet i cant make a cron job , grr cisco will send
me to the funny farm yet.
naturally logging was shut completly damn
list of goodies as much as i remember
flash image
logfile
vlan.old
vlan.dat
vlan.olde
3550archives
3550 archives - a text file ??? damn cisco routers dont have cat vi or emacs
how do i display a text? file ( no extention )
I did follow the clearing procedures right - why did the vtp domain
persist - i didnt think to look if vlans persisted damn again
has anyone used the R&S advanced book from Internetwork Expert - how
much more advanced is it over regular IEWB
