Hello group,
Sometimes we encounter stuff like "ip rtp priority" or "ip multicast
rate-limit". They
are intented to police traffic rate in some way, but they dont take any sort
of "burst"
parameter. So performing some sort investigations, i found for instance
stuff like
ftp://ftpeng.cisco.com/ipmulticast/config-notes/multicast-rate-limit.txt
Reading through it, I found that multicat rate-limit actually uses 1 second
of traffic rate
for burst calculation.
So here is the question:
Is it always the default behavior for "burst-less" policers to caclulate
burst size from some fixed time interval?
As for IP RTP priority, for instance, citing from:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/fqos_
c/fqcprt2/qcfconmg.htm#1001261
---- IP RTP Priority closely polices use of bandwidth for the priority queue, ensuring that the allocated amount is not exceeded in the event of congestion. In fact, IP RTP Priority polices the flow every second. ----TIA Petr
