cos-dscp => You are mapping L2 Trunk cost value to DSCP for internal
switch processing
ip-prece => you are mapping L3 Tos (ipprec) to DSCP for
internal switch processing

L3 => Can be a port fast link or an PC connected to a switch
L2 => A router connected to a switch via Trunk or IP phone Trunks or
Switch-Switch Trunks

Depending on who is connected or what protocol do you want to process (L2 ,
IP , IPX) you have to apply these commands appropriately.

This is my current analysis and could be corrected based on experts reply.
