Can someone shed some light on what "forward metric" means in the output
below? Is this related in any way to the metric that is used when
redistributing if a metric is not specified (e.g. is this the metric
that will be assigned to rip routes if I use "

router rip
redistribute opsf 1

R5#sh ip route 31.3.0.0
Routing entry for 31.3.0.0/16
  Known via "ospf 1", distance 110, metric 1
  Tag 3, type extern 2, forward metric 12953
  Redistributing via rip
  Advertised by rip metric 1
  Last update from 136.1.245.2 on Serial0/0/0.245, 00:27:27 ago
  Routing Descriptor Blocks:
  * 136.1.245.2, from 150.1.2.2, 00:27:27 ago, via Serial0/0/0.245
      Route metric is 1, traffic share count is 1
      Route tag 3
