Yes I am definitely very grateful for my achievements. I wasn't expecting to
pass the first time before I got there after hearing from others the
likelihood of passing the first time. Also considering my age I wasn't sure
if I would be able to (I am 21 btw). I knew that was a very young age to
obtain CCIE status but I have heard of people younger that have passed so I
figured I could also.
I had been questioning myself a lot within the past week asking myself if I
have covered all the topics that I needed to. Luckily after I had started
the test I had realized that I had covered everything that was on my exam
and there weren't any surprises or anything that threw me off. I had
finished a few hours before my time was up so I had more than enough time to
read over every question on that exam and verified I had configured
everything the way it was asked to be configured. I had noticed a couple of
things during this time that might have changed my results so thankfully I
had enough time to verify thoroughly. I would definitely say that you really
need to be be able to finish the exam with an hour or two left to reread
everything thoroughly. It is definitely possible to misread a question with
all that is going through your head during the exam. Plus if you are like me
you probably won't have a lot of sleep the days before the exam because I
was thinking too much of what was possibly going to be asked.
I have also been working towards this goal for about 3-4 years now with some
breaks in between starting with my CCNA when I was 18. Working for a Cisco
Partner helps also as I have been able to get lots of access to equipment. I
have a full CCIE rack at work that I have been able to use during my
studies. I think that has helped a lot instead of having to worry about
renting rack time. Also with all the helpful people here on groupstudy I
have been able to pick up what I needed to study on to be properly prepared
for the exam.
