RE: Bootcamp for SP

There are multiple workbooks out there. Being that I work for one of the
vendors, I will refrain from making a recommendation on that part.

There are many aspects of the SP track, so preparation may take you a while
based on your current knowledge and experience level. Check out some of the
Cisco Press books on MPLS and MPLS/VPN deployments. This will help you
think through the why and how of implementating the technologies. Then go
through the blueprint.

Knowing individual technologies is absolutely critical. But at the same
time, the SP model is a giant overlay concept, so you will also need to
start working on implementing things together and keep everything happy!
Try the layered approach from technology and design though, because it makes
the learning much easier. Build on stuff each time.

It's hard to give you much guidance because I don't have any idea where you
are coming from in terms of knowledge and experience! But I do teach an SP
bootcamp, and San Jose is one of the places we do training (as is the RTP
area if you like the east coast better).... But I would suggest a good
amount of pre-work before attending a bootcamp! There is a LOT of material
to cover in a short period of time, so the better your knowledge going in,
the more you will benefit from the bootcamp and be able to ask better
questions to make sure everything makes sense in your head and you are
better organized for your lab then.

HTH, and I hope to see you in class!

I am also interested in the bootcamp for SP lab in CA or workbook for SP
lab. I appreciate if anyone can share some experience how to prepare the SP
lab.

  Thanks,
