OT: Can a Ad-Hoc network/peer to peer cause network

I have a wierd thing happening. When we explore network neighborhood, we
see domains that don't exist on our network. We have checked firewalls,
done netstat and can't explain. We have also tried using Ethereal to
determine where these domain broadcasts are being populated from.

Is it possible one laptop (a visitor) connects to another laptop Ad-Hoc/peer
to peer (our laptops on our network) and it is carrying traffic and my
network is rebroadcasting their advertisements?

Any help would be appreciated.
