Eigrp distance command

Hello friends,

I don't know about you, but in all labs which I have done I cannot make use of the command

distance xxx 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 acl1 under eigrp proccess. I haven't found any reason for it not to work so finally I am asking you.

If you use distance eigrp internal external - everything looks ok.

I know that in ospf for neighbors you have to match the router-id of the originator of the lsa, in RIP you have to match the neighbor, but in eigrp nothing works for me, even matching everyone like in the example above.

Help with an advice please
