Yes, make sure you chose a network type with compatible DR arrangements.
I've made this work on several occasions (only for lab purposes). The
easiest thing to do is obviously changing the network types.

Changing the ospf network type will change the timers. Keep in mind the
modes will need to be compatible. Brian M from IE just posted an email a
week or two ago regarding compatible ospf network types. The only ways I
know of are the "ip ospf hello-interval" and changing the network type.
