I don't think that any question is dumb (especially, since I ask enough
of them). The ABR at area 0 and area 1 will complain about no virtual
link if it is not set up properly. Also, you can look at your ip ospf
neighbors and check to make sure that the VL (virtual link) is in there
and is full. Next, to the area 2 router and make sure that your
database for ospf is populated and you can see all the routes. HTH.

Hi All,
(Except those who think this is a dump quetion and want to ask me
whether I pass written or not)!
How can I check an area in ospf is an invalid area if it is not
connected to the backbone area? I configured area 0, area 1 and area 2.
Area 1 is connected in between the two. Before setting up the
virtual-link I want to see the validity of area 2. I tried debug ip
ospf adj/packet/event but didn't get that info.
Please help.
