Rumors are what they are. :) As usual, I believe them when I see them!
It'll be a LONG time (if ever) that those types are moved to the small
routers in the CCIE lab. But as noted, competition is always good! New
ideas filter across. :) So all we have to do is tell the Cisco SE's that
Juniper's working on something at the same time we tell the Juniper SE's
that Cisco is working on something... Then see who gets there first!

Cisco does have "rollback" and "commit" commands but as far as I know they
are only available in IOX. I have heard rumors that IOX will be moving down
to some of the smaller platforms in the future, but nothing official as of
yet. I hope they do, it has some really cool features.
And Scott, I agree with you. Healthy competition is great. Both vendors do
some really cool stuff and as the competition heats up, it only gets better.
