I'm not sure how accurate this is but,
Your configs are put through an e-marking system at the end of the lab test.
If you pass beyond all doubt (I guess >80) you get your pass email within
the hour - I did after about 40 mins of the lab ending :-).
If your mark is borderline + or - 5% of the pass mark, your configs are
referred for manual marking to the dreaded proctor. Your result therfore
could take up to 24hrs to be issued depending on the "mood" of the proctor.
If you fail beyond all doubt, then I guess you'll get the result within the
hour.
That's how it used to be, but I guess it could have changed.

Waiting time can vary. My first attempt results came in the middle of the
night. My second came in the middle of the afternoon the next day (was very
close). I have heard that the longer they take is better, since they may be
taking a closer look.
