You could run ICMP Router Discover Protocol (IRDP) on the router, but as
long as proxy-arp is on (which it is by default) the router will respond
to any ARP requests it receives about remote destinations it has a route
to. So in other words it depends on whether or not the host is going to
ARP for non local destinations.
