Each hop: Earth <-> Geo-Sync is approx 125ms (1/8th of a second)

This yields 250ms (2/8ths) of one way latency (ground -> satellite ->
ground)

Round trip pings aren't going to get faster than ~500ms unless you're
using satellites other than geo-sync (~22.2K miles). Low Earth Oribt?
