If you have a static route out this port then UDLD will shut it down and
enable an alternate route to be used.

Subject: UDLD on L3 ports
Hi folks,
Just one quick question on the usage of UDLD in a pure Layer3 network..
Does it add any value? In my opinion it does not..
Btw, how about in a setup which has a mix of L2 and L3 links? Does it
harm if i do not enable udld for L3 links? What if a L2 port's fibre
strand gets mixed up with a L3 port strand? (in 2 places), will it
result in a STP loop?
Regards
