Dear all,
I m very confused with NTP authentication, I know that the server didnt
authenticate clients but the problem is the way I configured,
it we had r1 as ntp master, r2 is client :
r1
ntp authenticate
nt authentication-key 11 md5 123
ntp trusted-key 11 { did this config is important on master ???}
ntp master 3
!
r2
ntp server r1-ipaddr
ntp authenticate
ntp authentication-key 12 md5 123
ntp-trusted-key 12
ntp server r1-ipadd key 12
!
the question is on the command ntp server key, is this command is used for
clients to authenticate with the master on the local network or it is just
used for the local NTP server to authenticate with external servers???
I mean I must include this command on r2 or it will authenticate r1 without
it ?
