IP RIP triggered

Dear all,
I m confused about rip trigerred updates, as I know RIP triggered suppress
periodic updates this saving the bandwidth and it is used on stub routers
connected to hub ones, if we have for example r1 as the hub and r2 as stub,
I dont know where we exactly configured the rip trigerred updates? configure
it on r2 only , on r1 or on both routers ??? so if i configured it on r2
does this will prevent r2 from sending updates but it still receiving
updates from r1 ?
