I was wondering if anyone can help me out with something.
I am conducting some research for another project and since I am not
familiar with all the different( popular or prevalent) server platforms and
CPU types out there today any help would be appreciated. Being a network guy
for so many years I have gotten rusty on server technology. I know there are
folks here that wear both hats or stay up to date on that area of
technology.
What is the most prevalent server platform you use for your customers? I am
looking for basic information such as brand, form factor, Rack/Tower and CPU
type.
What I am looking for is something like:
"Most enterprises or SMBs today are using Dell XX, rack based,
Pentium-D....." I just need a close approximation so I can select one
platform for some tests.
Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated.
