Iam using cisco voip phones and I have 3550 series switches.

Below is my config for a switchport.

interface FastEthernet0/4
 description Jahan-desk
 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
 switchport trunk native vlan 606
 switchport mode trunk
 switchport voice vlan 154
End

606 is my data vlan and 154 is voice vlan

I don't think spanning port fast is enable by default when I config voice
vlan.

Cheers

Vishal

Subject: Voice vlan

dear all,
I m confused a little with the voice VLAN, as I know the ip phone is
attached to the switch with dot1q trunk, shall we configure sw trunk encap
???

interface fast 0/7
sw trunk encap dot1q
sw access 3
switchport voice vlan 5
!
I dunno if this right or not, I checked in the doc CD but they didnt say to
configure this command, what they mentioned that the port fast is enabled by
default when you configure the voice vlan, and this confuse me more, port
fast is enabled only on access ports ????

please help me about this issue

best regards ,
