well, i checked out he bandwidth on all the intrefaces and they are all
1544, mtu is 1500. i thought perhaps there was an interval mismatch
(hellos that i changed to 10 manually......but that did not make a
difference. R3 is sending out hello's on s0/0, but when i debug R2 i
don't see any magic happening

Dont see anything wrong,

I'm assuming all 3 serials are high-speed correct?

Your config looks ok to me otherwise.
