Hi ,
I am reading the below link on Mulitlink PPP topic. (ccie RS lab prespective)
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios124/124cg/hqos_c/part30/ch05/qslfifr.htm
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios122/122cgcr/fqos_c/fqcprt6/qcflfifr.htm#
Quote from the above link:
-------------------------------------
Configuring Multilink PPP over Frame Relay on a Virtual Template
Interface (optional; applies only if you are using the Cisco 7500
series router or the Cisco 7600 series router)
or
Configuring Multilink PPP over Frame Relay on a Multilink Group
Interface (optional)
Associating the Virtual Template Interface with a Frame Relay PVC (required)
Verifying the Multilink PPP over Frame Relay Configuration (optional)
Question:
I have a few understanding problem, From what i understand , there
are two ways to configure Multilink PPP over FR.
1) Virtual-template (multilink ppp) & associating to FR interfaces.
2) multilink group to Virtual template to FR interfaces.
- If i am right with the above two choices, i will never be using
"virtual-template over FR (without interface multilink)" in ccie lab
exam, correct ?
- Link 2 above shows "virtual-template over FR (without interface
multilink)"....Is that still valid config ?
- If both type of configs are applicable, how to choose one over other.?
-- Thanks & Rgds SAN
