James, you certainly deserve this after 10 attempts! Wow, I just don't
think I could last that long and keep my motivation. Anyway, that's a
testament to your dedication and even though I'm sure you would have rather
passed the first try, you learned a ton of stuff during your studies for the
next 9.

Congratulations!

Rik

Subject: Nice Wake up call

As many of you know, I have been trying to achieve the goal of CCIE.
Well, yesterday I trucked up to RTP to sit in the lab yet again, hoping,
praying, even sacrificed a chicken...and finally, at 2am, I got word via
e-mail that I finally passed my lab...I am officially a CCIE.

I can not even begin to thank you all, in some way shape or form, you have
all conrtibuted in my success ( if you feel you haven't, then just enjoy the
ride with me)! Special thans to Val, Bruce,Bob and Indy for all the great
advice, mentoring and support when I really needed it!
Cooper, another special thanks to you! Everyone on GS, just knowing the
support is there is great, but a special thanks to Scott and the Brians for
having an outlet for us all to meet.

For those that are on this track, let me be your poster child for getting
it, it took me 10 times to finally pass the lab. So when you think you are
down and out and not able to get over the hump and ready to just give in,
remember I cried 9 times too, and a tenth tonight.

I finally do believe that yes, even people like me can actually pass this
thing.

I will not bore you all with what I did, how I felt...you have other e-mails
to read I am sure, but I needed to take the time to say thanks, to everyone.
