Does anybody know how the wic-1adsl works?

I'm kinda interested in its start up process and how (where) the
firmware is provided. i.e. does IOS load the firmware to the card? or
is the firmware on the card?

The reason for asking is I have a card that was in a 1750 and working
fine, moved it to a 2821 and had some trouble, moved it back and
continued to have trouble with it (packet loss, training issues). Now
the card causes a BUS exception in the 1750 with the line connected and
just sits trying to load firmware 3.8.131 on the 2800 (but never
trains).

My thoughts are that maybe the firmware was upgraded by the 2800 IOS,
and now the 1750 doesn't like the card. Other possibility is the card
is stuffed I suppose :(
