Hi Rado,

As long as I understand this thing if you put something like

Track 1 ip route 1.1.1.0/24 metric threshold
Threshold metric up 20 down 21

It will detect if the route changes its metric and if it is above 20 it will go into down state.

Check it with the command show track 1

Hope this helps !

Best,
Nick

Subject: tracking a route metric change

Hi Group,

I have an OSPF route that i need to track for the purposes of HSRP/VRRP
master selection.
Let's say the route has a current OSPF metric of 20.

The requirement here is to track and give up the master role if the route:
-disappears from the routing table
-metric changes

the first part is easy:
track 1 ip route 172.30.0.0/26 reachability

Could you help me out with the second part? The command reference says that
the routing protocols metrics are `normalized` per protocol, and basically
the syntax of the `track ip route metrich threshold` is confusing.

thanks!
