Virtual MAC in HSRP

I am not very clear as to how the virtual MAC address is updated when the
ACTIVE router goes down while packets are being sent to it. Say a PC client
is sending packets to Router-A which is the currently Active router. Both
Router A and Router B are connected to the same switch. Now when Router-A
goes down, what would trigger the Switch to update its MAC address table to
send packets to the port to which Router-B is connected? Does the PC need to
do another ARP? Can somebody shed some light?
