Hello Diego, I do not understand it, what has to do the Security Flag in
IPV4 with IPV6 in this tread?
BTW Internetwork Experts haves a nice Demo about their Virtual Classes, and
they teach us that is better to read non Cisco related documents and then
read and learn the Cisco point of view of the technology
http://www.internetworkexperts.com/onlineclassroom.htm
But I'm looking for some tips about on how to calculate the Prefix Part in
any IPV6 address; this is a critical aspect of the lab
Regards
Victor.

Stop reading at the end of 3513 - You don't wanna read RFC 3514... Or
maybe you do... :)

Sorry, RFC2373 was obsoleted by RFC 3513.

Hi, Victor
I'm currently studying IPv6, too.
Several RFCs are really must read.
Highly recommend RFCs are 1887(Detailed describe why should we use the
hierarchical and structured ipv6 addresses) & 2373(address
representation) .
Also Cisco's ABC of IPv6 is good:
http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/products/iosswrel/c1127
/cdc
cont_0900aecd8018e369.pdf
I really agree with that "Knowing Why before how" --- by Brian.
I lost 5 points from my last attempt, just because I use the wrong
prefix length.
Regards,
HTH.

Hello List, I'm confused about the IPV6-address/Prefix representation,
is there any logical math that could help me break the prefix from the
address structure part?
Where can I find a related RFC about this?
Thanks in advance
Victor.
