Hi,

What is the significance of 4th octet in IPV6 address. I have read some
references but could not get much in detail anywhere.

FWIW, the concept is identical. The only difference is that you have 128
bits instead of 32, and your starting point is hexadecimal instead of
decimal.

But once you break things into binary, nothing is different.

Looking for some good docs/examples of IPV6 subnetting. The way it is
explained on IE website for IPv4 is really nice. I wonder if there is any
whitepaper explaining IPV6 subnetting in a similar way.
