It is a bad idea in some cases to use the aux port to replace an Ethernet connection (but I do understand your limitations). Remember that a point to point link has some major differenes from ethernet and will not be able to support certain functions (such as HSRP). Some scenerios in IE will not be supported due to the requirement of a broadcast domain of more than 2 routers.

As long as you keep these things in-mind you should be OK.
