Objet : Router as DNS server on IOS?
Hello
Hope everyone has had a merry xmas, but I've got to get back to work.
I have an issue where I'm asked the following:
Your DNS server has failed and you were asked to configure R6 as DNS
server while the other one undergoes repair.
Configure R6 (running 12.4) in such a way that when you issue a ping
"host" (being host the hostname on any device on the network), from any
device on your network (R1 to R6 and SW1 and 2), R6 resolves this
request to host.internetworkexpert.com
I've looked up the new DNS related features on 12.4, but I didn't find a
way of doing this. I've tried dns spoofing, but with no results
(basically the router replies always with its own IP, or the one
configured along with ip dns spoofing IP.)
Any suggestions?
