Tips for Creating Checklist on the Lab

Just wondering how you guys create checklists for each section on the exam?
Do you just write down the section heading or do you also copy down each
individual task?
I find writing each individual task very time consuming but seems that it is
necessary as to not miss a task.

What are your opinions?
