Victor,
I am not certain what Beau was meaning. However, "The Dead Sea Scrolls" are
writings estimated to have occurred between 300 BC and 80 AD. These writings
were found on the shores and caves of Dead Sea in the late 1940's and early
1950's.
There is great debate in Theological circles as to their meaning. Some say
they predate the modern Christianity movement (before Christ) and provide
the foundation of what we know today as Christianity. Others say the scrolls
provide insight into how ancient Jewish settlers progressed as a society in
the lands of Palestine and modern day Israel, and the Middle Eastern
society.
Perhaps Beau was eluding to this RFC because of differing interpretations of
the RFC, such as there are been controversy over the interpretation of the
Dead Sea Scrolls and their true meaning. Unfortunately I have not read the
test in the book you talk about, which coincidentally I will be receiving
this book tomorrow via FedEx, so I will read what Beau has written and maybe
be able to add some more insight.
Regards,
Wayne

Hello Friends
I have this question about Multicast, but more that a technical problem I
think is an interpretation problem, in Cisco Press Book Chapter 2 Mr. Beau
is referencing RFC 1112 as the "IP MULTICAST DEAD SCOLLS" .. Could anybody
with more light explain this English (Why I is so hard to understand words)
in more plain . I do not know if there is a better place to post book
stuff questions so it would be very nice to know if there a special mailing
list for that, if so please excuse my post
This RFC 1112 "specifies the extensions required of a host implementation of
the Internet Protocol (IP) to support multicasting" and in a general way (IM
(very ) HO interpretation, this Rfc explains the very basis of multicast,
but I maybe do not understand the joke here (without being disparaging.)
