ok, i see what you are saying...............i should have said that i was
thinking in terms of auto-rp, not static rp's.......... yes, i know you can
configure static rp to point to clients to the rp locations, but if you can
only use auto-rp, or bootstrap, i was thinking you had some magical way to
define those groups that i was not aware of... :) thanks dude!

Yes. You can see this in the "show ip mroute" output.

             This is covered in the multicast sections of IEWB-RS 3.0, and
I
think the 2.0 version as well.
