 Hi,

I remember using 1200 baud rate with Crtl- Break keys, when I used WIN NT
PC.

Then change the baud 9600 and the router use to be in rommon.

From Win 98 onwards I have used cltl - break on Hyperterminal and Secure CRT
with speed 9600.

Thanks

What works best for me with all terminal emulation programs, and routers is
to set the baud rate to 1200 and press the space bar many times during the
initial boot sequence. I have had the break / ctrl break keys not work for
me before and so I use the space bar and 1200 baud rate.

Here is a link that discusses different key sequences ... As mentioned I
only use the low baud rate / space bar method.

As Dave mentioned, the first 60 seconds are when the break needs to be
received by the router. When you see the characters on the screen appear
distorted then you are probably @ the rommon> You can then reset
the baud rate to 9600 and see what your typing ;-)

Udachee Elliot!!!

Elliot -

According to the password recovery procedure.....

Press Break on the terminal keyboard within 60 seconds of the power-up to
put the router into ROMMON

Here is the complete link....

Hope this helps.
