OSPF DC...

Hello all,

Sometimes we face in some tasks that OSPF packets should not
trigger ISDN. However OSPF should run on this BRI i/f.

In a situation like this, is it wise enough to turn on DC for the
ISDN link..? The reason i want to turn it on is for obvious reasons, that i
would like to quickly converge the routing table.. However, i see some
issues with this..

As long as there are no topological changes, the DC is silent and
keeps the neighbor up even for days together. However when there is a topo
change, apparently it wants to exchange the LSA to sync up the database.
Since the OSPF traffic is not interesting on ISDN link, the neighbor is
eventually broughtdown after few retries.. As such there is no side effect
to this (except that we lose the quick convergence), anyway the DC neighbor
will come back again whenever there is some interesting traffic triggers the
link again.

Considering this situation, all i want to know is whether it is a good
practise to turn on DC feature, when the requirement is not to make the OSPF
traffic interesting on the ISDN link.. Thoughts?
