Thanks, that should work a treat. I presume if I reboot the router I will
need to issue the command again, or could I just use the set variable to
make it permanent?

Stuart,
You can boot the 2610 from flash with a higher image. Boot into
rommon and issue the "tftpdnld -r" command. This will tftp boot the
image and run it from ram. Once you start getting into the larger image
range the router will not boot, but you can at least run the latest
12.2T Enterprise Plus version, which should be sufficient for most
features.
