You could use reflexive accesslists?

Cool, that's what I ran into at a client site like last month. TFTP
overall was failing but the session would start then nothing could be
transmitted.

It's a great interview question, I've stumped a few people on that one.

But back to the lab question, if the lab asks for tftp to be opened and
you only open port 69 will that be enough to satisfy the requirement or
are you going to need to open the higher ports to receive the credit?
Because technically speaking if you only open port 69 it will still
fail.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

From what I remember it was the higher, I remember creating a list gt
than 32xxx, but I could be wrong.

Now we are getting somewhere.

Between what and what? Higher ports or lower ports?

Thanks

At first it uses 69 and then random ports, it's a weird protocol

Guys -

This is an interesting question. I thought of it after running into the
issue on a production network that I was troubleshooting, I know the
answer now, but didn't then I thought I knew the answer and was partly
correct.

What port number does TFTP use?

Just thinking if they put this on the lab for a security question what
the answer should be.

Thanks,

T.J.
