RTFB (Read The Fine Book ;-/)
This was a quote from a section describing the difference in the use
of distribute-list in RIP vs. in RIPng
R1(config)#router rip
R1(config-router)#distribute-list ?
<1-199> IP access list number
<1300-2699> IP expanded access list number
WORD Access-list name
gateway Filtering incoming updates based on gateway
prefix Filter prefixes in routing updates
Now compare w/ RIPng
R1(config)#ipv6 router rip DeepTrench
R1(config-rtr)#distribute-list ?
prefix-list Filter connections based on an IPv6 prefix-list
Now read my corrections again:
P.704: "The only difference between the IPV4 and the IPv6 configuration
is that the IPv4 distribute-list command references an access-list
[as well as a prefix-list and a gateway], and the IPv6 distribute-list
command references a prefix-list [only]".
Note: my corrections (inserted in []) are true, at least for IOSv12.2-15T
