Hi Group!
I want to create a troubleshooting list for a problem that I see often when
I am doing practice labs - AND THE REAL THING.
You build your BGP topology by creating your peerings - and then you notice
that a router is not sending BGP routes to another BGP peer as you would
expect. By the way - you can verify this with the excellent BGP
troubleshooting/verification command SHOW IP BGP NEIGH
X.X.X.XADVERTISED-ROUTES.
Here is the list so far:
1. iBGP Split Horizon Rule - updates from iBGP are not passed to another
iBGP router - fixed with Route Reflection or Confederation
2. Filtering/Suppression - duh! - you are filtering the routes from being
advertised through one of the many filter options in BGP - or perhaps you
are doing aggregation
3.
4.
Thanks for your help!
