:-) I don't doubt you're right and I certainly won't call you silly ! ..

I started this originally because I wanted some way to double check
that I'd done my sums right and using the tclsh seemed as good a way
to do it as any .. then I found it was a little harder than I thought
but it got me interested .. well for a bit anyway.

Having put it together, it's easy enough to paste it into a config and
leave it in memory. To use it instead of my brain would be foolish,
but to use it to check my brain seems okay ! I doubt I'll be typing
it into my routers come the lab somehow, but it's a useful double
check while I'm convincing myself I'm happy with the conversions
between the two schemes.
